Teacher/technology mentor/digital grant author-coordinator: English literature, journalism teacher 1985 - present; published school newspaper; high school faculty technology mentor, coordinator  1989 – present; wrote the California Distinguished School Award application; solicited a technology endowment from the East Bay Community Foundation of $550,000 in 1999 and had our school wired for the Internet; Wrote California Digital High Grant for $562,000 in 2000 for computers, training, and expansion of our network facilities; continued on as grant coordinator; Teacher of the Year (BUSD) 1996

Intel Master Teacher: I have trained and graduated 54 teachers through the Intelฎ Teach to the Future program 1999 -- Present. 

Technology Consultant for Light Bridge Project: I wrote and support the Explore! Technology Website for SSU. The site assists teachers at integrating technology and aligning their work with state standards

Online course developer and instructor; teleconference coordinator: Under contract with SSU, I wrote and taught three online courses: Internet in the K-12 Classroom,  Integrating Technology into Elementary Language Arts and Social Sciences, and Integrating Technology into Secondary Language Arts and Social Sciences. As teleconference coordinator, I visited schools, connected cameras, and directed conferences between student teachers and master teachers; Prior to teaching online for SSU, I taught courses for three years through the Institute of Computer Technology (ICT).

Conference Guest Speaker: I am employed part-time with Classroom Connect as a contracted conference speaker. I have presented in Las Vegas, Houston, and Baltimore on a variety of education topics. I have also presented at CUE in Sacramento on Digital Portfolios.

Marketing and sales, technology trainer: I became an AT&T salesman in 1978. When computers were introduced to the sales personnel, in approximately 1982, I became a trainer of service representatives in writing computer-coded sales orders; I also published a monthly departmental training newsletter.

Newspaper Columnist: I have written a weekly educational humor and advice column for the Benicia Herald  since 1985. I am currently approaching my 900th published column.  Benicia population: 28,000.
