Duties and Responsibilities

In 1999 school districts from around the United States were invited to select one to two teachers from their district (depending on size) to participate in the Intel® Teach to the Future Master Teacher Program, which takes teachers through an extensive 40-hour live-lab training on how to integrate technology into the classroom. Co-sponsored by Microsoft®, participants got free training, a free laptop, free software for themselves and their classroom, a $7,000 classroom grant, and an incremental stipend. Teachers learned how to integrate the Microsoft Office Suite™ with the Internet to create interactive, problem-based, classroom projects.

Opon completing the Master Teacher Course, Intel® sent me back to my district to teach one workshop a year of up to 20 teachers over the next three years.

By the end of the three-year program, I had trained and graduated 54 teachers, approximately ¼ of our district.

Intel recently decided to extend the program beyond its original 3-year committment and asked me to continue in the program. I am still active.
